New Internet Money, Iconic Hippies, Liking Something You Don't Like, Eerie Symphonics, and Dirt.
Jeez, last time I released one of these was close to 2 months ago?! Damn, time flies, especially when you’ve got a full plate. Honestly, these days are… maybe not trying, but, well, challenging, in a good way. So much going on in music, in real estate, in IT, in advisories, in just being me and enjoying the wide world that endlessly flashes before my eyes.
And that’s kinda why I like this part of the newsletter. It lets me sit back and look at myself, what I appreciate, what I explore, what influences my direction and the actions that I take. I guess its kinda like one of those Be Humble lists or journals where you write down everything that yr grateful for.
Actually, I think that’s exactly what this is. Oops. Give it a try yrself, if you ever feel like it. Kinda nice feeling to watch yourself evolve.
IT: World Economic Forum’s Evolution of NFTs
Haven’t been hearing much about NFTs recently, have ya?! Well, yeah, that bubble kinda burst. That bursting was kind interesting though, cause it largely seems to be associated with criminal intent and not the underlying technology. Said another way, its bad products, bad people, and miseducation that’s pushed NFTs and crypto in general in the direction its gone and, just, like, crypto.
So, probably unsurprisingly, I still consider it all very much a good thing to continue studying, getting experience in, and be able to intelligently comment on, which is where this report comes in.
Its kinda long at 50 pages, but trust me, its worth it ;)
Music: Grateful Dead
So this is a very un-Metal (notice the capitalization) recommendation. For whatever reason, Metal scenes world-wide very much tend to be very anti Dead. Which, in a sense, is ironic given the whole “dead” aspect of this band’s name.
But whatever. If there’s a band that yr largely not allowed to like in the international Metal scene, it’s The Grateful Dead. And that’s dumb. These folks put together some outstanding compositions, wonderful lyrics, and an ethos that, IMO, largely jives with the Metal scene that I know and love.
So it’s a weird connundrum: dig on a band that catches me flak despite being a great example of musicians that operate outside of the direct extreme-ness of a lot of the bands I love and the scene I run in, of feign distaste for them while knowing that they actually represent one of the first efforts to alter minds.
