I was first introduced to Takasaki’s caldera mountain, Haruna-san, through a good friend and top-level outdoorsman, Gunma Guy. So far as I know, its not a place that’s on many people’s radar, despite being the stop before the hallowed Karuizawa on the Hokuriku bullet train, but hey, isn’t that the case with, like, all of Japan?
